With dual degrees in the applied arts, Mylinh Nguyen was trained in metal sculpture at ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres (Paris 15th) and in textile design at ESAA Duperre\u0301 (Paris 3rd). Throughout her education, the challenge was to combine rigorous technical training with the development of a personal artistic language: technique aligns with creative intent\u2014this is where it finds meaning. Mylinh Nguyen creates a body of work deeply rooted in the living world. Her work, marked by rare sensitivity, explores organic forms and ever-evolving materials, at the intersection of the vegetal and animal realms. Her sculptures appear inhabited, almost animated\u2014they breathe, vibrate, and evoke presences that are both fragile and powerful. Words such as precision, delicacy, and finesse are essential to describe Mylinh Nguyen\u2019s work and the impressive formal mastery her pieces demand. Yet this virtuosity is anything but showy. Her command of balance and the evocative power of her sculptures offer each viewer a personal space for both projection and contemplation.The notion of the passage of time is central to Mylinh Nguyen\u2019s work\u2014a time that unfolds through the tireless repetition of gestures during the creation of her sculptures. Hers is a practice in constant dialogue with matter, permeated by reflections on time and presence. In 2013, Mylinh Nguyen was awarded the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for the Intelligence of the Hand, in the Exceptional Talent category. In 2015, she was an artist-in-residence at Villa Kujoyama (Kyoto, Japan), and in 2022 at Villa Medici (Rome, Italy), for her project Roses?
